Our Lease Advisory & Valuation team benefits from extensive experience in commercial property landlord & tenant matters. Martin Foster and Matt Bredin provide a full landlord & tenant service from strategic advice through rent review and lease renewal negotiation and lease re-gear advice, to expert witness representation in arbitration and court proceedings.

Long-standing involvement for investors includes shopping centres in Durham, Lancaster, Scunthorpe and Newcastle under Lyme for landlords including Columbia Threadneedle, and the team has been retained for many years by a range of private and public landlords and occupiers.

The team also undertakes appraisals for a variety of purposes including accounts, development appraisal, acquisition/disposal and taxation.

A prominent area of the team's business is the provision of diminution assessments and expert witness expertise to both landlords and tenants relating to the impact of Section 18(1) of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1927 upon dilapidations claims.  In an area where relatively few advisors offer advice, Martin has developed a particular expertise over several years.
